Minor Site Redesign

As part of some major internal restructuring, we’ve slightly redesigned the Fablehenge app. The user-visible changes are modest, but will hopefully improve your enjoyment of the product.

The most visibly obvious change is that we’ve brightened the colour scheme a bit: the purples are more purple and less gray. We’ve also improved the consistency of colours in the dark scheme, and if you have your operating system colour scheme set to “automatic”, Fablehenge will now switch to the dark theme as soon as the sun sets. You no longer need to refresh the page.

We have replaced almost all of the “components” in the UI with new versions that will behave identically, but are a little bit prettier and more performant with better accessibility.

We’ve also improved the scrolling of pages; previously, the app sometimes rendered at an odd offset on some pages, especially when the “notification” banner is shown at the top (if you are offline or not logged in, for example).

Finally, we replaced our three-column-sliders (used on the Write and Relationships) pages with a more accessible component. Try double clicking on the drag handle!

This was done as part of a major internal change we needed to do to make Fablehenge more performant and more pleasant to work on. A delightful experience for both our authors and our developers is our top priority! A blog article on the technical details of this migration is coming soon.
