Feature Tour #4 of 5: Feedback

In this five-part tour, we’ll give you a quick run-through of Fablehenge’s core features. Ready to learn how Fablehenge can help you finish your novel faster? Let’s go!

Three Ways to Share Your Work

Fablehenge makes it easy to share your work with reviewers and incorporate their feedback. When you’re ready for feedback, you have three options.

The first is to generate a link to your scene. Share this link with anyone; email it to friends or post it online. Anyone with the link will be able to see your scene and comment on it.

The second is to post the scene to Scribophile. (This is a brand new integration, and we’re super excited to be able to offer this feature!) If you haven’t checked it out yet, Scribophile is one of the largest and most award-winning online writing groups. It’s a great place to give and receive feedback, and find beta readers familiar with your genre.

The third option, available to Fablehenge Pro users, is to submit your scene for AI feedback. (Your scene will not be uploaded to services that use it to train new models.)

Share a Link with Anyone

To generate a link, find the “Share Link to Scene” button in the Feedback section of the sidebar.

Click this button to generate a link to share. Reviewers will see your scene and message from the author, and will be able to leave detailed comments on your scene text. Here’s an example of what a reader will see:

Note that reviewers will need a free Fablehenge account to access your scene; if they don’t have one already, the feedback invitation walks them through signing up.

Once they’ve submitted their feedback, it shows up in the sidebar for you to review.

You can see their comments alongside your current text, and incorporate their suggestions if you so desire.

Share to Scribophile

The first step is to connect your Scribophile account to Fablehenge. You’ll be prompted to do this when you click the “Share on Scribophile” button, if you haven’t already.

Once you’ve connected your account and critiqued a few scenes on Scribophile to generate karma, you can share your work on Scribophile directly from the Fablehenge app. Simply select the scene you would like to share and click the “Share with Scribophile” button in the right sidebar. You’ll be redirected to Scribophile to fill out details about your scene and novel and choose which of the Scribophile spotlights to place it in.

Once your work has been reviewed by other Scribophile users, your Scribophile critiques will automatically show up alongside your scene.

Share for AI feedback

If you’re not quite ready for human eyes (or are just curious what AI might have to say), AI feedback is a great option. It’s good at sanity checking basic grammar and sentence structure, and sometimes we’re astonished at the insights it comes back with.

(Sometimes the suggestions it comes up with are also pretty ridiculous, but since this is sometimes true of human feedback as well we let it slide!)

View AI feedback alongside your scene text and choose what to include and what to ignore, just like regular feedback.

Good feedback takes your work to the next level, and we’ve done our best to give you lots of useful options. To start getting input on your writing, try out the app.
